    Seasoning turkey steak is simple and you can easily use whatever spices and herbs you have on hand. If the herbs work with chicken then you can use them on turkey too.

    Here is a simple yet the best way to season and marinate turkey breast steak that is flavorful and you will be going back to it every time. You can never go wrong with these 4 ingredients.

    • Smoked paprika: sub with sweet parika
    • Garlic granules
    • Onion powder
    • Italian seasoning

    These 4 seasoning ingredients will transform the turkey steaks into something tasty and more importantly, you can use it to season any other poultry of choice as well.

    Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl and add a few tablespoons of olive oil to create the marinade. If time is of the essence then you can cook the steak without marinating it.

    What you will need to make air fryer turkey cutlets

    To make this recipe, you will need the following handful of ingredients

    Skinless boneless turkey steaks: These are also referred to as turkey cutlets as they are cut from turkey breast.

    Seasoning: I used a combination of smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic granules, and Italian seasoning.

    Olive oil: sub with any other flavorless cooking oil

    Parmesan cheese: this is optional but highly recommend as it adds tons of flavor to the steaks.

    How to make air fryer turkey steaks

    In a small bowl, combine smoked paprika, Italian seasoning, onion powder, and garlic granules and mix to combine.

    Preheat the air fryer to 190C/385F for 3-5 minutes

    Pat the turkey steaks with a kitchen paper towel then season both sides with salt and black pepper. Brush oil on the steaks and sprinkle the seasoning all over them making sure it is well coated. 

    Finally, sprinkle some grated parmesan cheese on the steaks then pat it down into the meat so that it sticks on.

    Carefully arrange the seasoned steak in the preheated air fryer and air fry for 5-6 minutes flipping it halfway through the cooking time so that it cooks evenly.

    Remove the cooked steaks from the air fryer immediately and serve with other sides of your choice.

    How long to cook turkey steaks in air fryer

    The cooking time of turkey steaks in the air fryer will depend on the thickness of the steak. Here in the UK, the thickness of turkey steaks is usually around 1cm and always less than 1 inch thick and that is for a thicker steak. An average cooking time in the air fryer is around 5-10 minutes at 190C/385F flipping it halfway through.

    For safe consumption, the steaks / cutlets must be fully cooked to at least 165F/74C internally. Use a meat thermometer to check the doneness of the steak. Alternatively, cut into the steak and it should be white and opaque with no trace of pink.

    • 1 pound turkey steaks about 6-7 1cm thick steaks
    • ½ Tablespoon smoked paprika
    • 1 teaspoon onion powder
    • 1 Tablespoon garlic granules
    • 1 Teaspoon Italian seasoning.

    Note: Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket, cook in batches if need be for an optimum result.
    Tip:
    Microplane graters are perfect for grating parmesan cheese from the block you will use less cheese this way because it is lighter.
