Learn how to cook green beans in the air fryer in easy and simple steps. Tender, crispy and delicious! Green beans are a nutritious and versatile vegetable that can be enjoyed in a variety of ways. While they are commonly steamed, sauteed or boiled, cooking them in an air fryer is the most convenient and fastest way to cook them.
Unlike many other recipes online, my recipe requires an additional simple step to ensure that you achieve deliciously tender-crisp green beans. You will need to blanch the green beans for a few minutes before air frying.
Not only will this simple step make your food presentable and appealing to your audience, but it will also help reduce cooking time and preserve the nutrients in the green beans.

How to cook green beans in air fryer
Prep: trim off both ends of the green beans. Using a sharp knife or simply snapping them off with your fingers (my preferred method; I find it therapeutic).
Blanch the vegetable: Boil a kettle of water and pour it over the green beans in a heatproof bowl. Let it sit for 1-3 minutes (depending on the thickness) before draining the water. Pat the green beans dry or leave them to air dry if time is not of the essence.
Preheat the air fryer to 375F / 190C for 3-5 minutes. This step is optional.
Season: Drizzle olive oil over the green beans and season with salt and pepper according to your taste.
Air fry: Place the seasoned green beans in the air fryer basket in a single layer and cook for 5-8 minutes or until the desired tenderness is achieved. Do not overfill the air fryer basket and cook in batches if necessary.
Squeeze lemon juice or sprinkle grated parmesan cheese over it, serve and enjoy.
