  • ½ pound fresh green beans
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Lemon wedges to serve
  • Shredded parmesan cheese to serve

Instructions
 

  • Trim off both ends of the green beans. Using a sharp knife or simply snapping them off with your fingers.
  • Boil a kettle of water and pour it over the green beans in a heatproof bowl. Let it sit for 1-3 minutes (depending on the thickness) before draining the water.
    Pat the green beans dry or leave them to air dry if time is not of the essence.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 375F / 190C for 3-5 minutes. This step is optional.
  • Drizzle olive oil over the green beans and season with salt and pepper according to your taste.
  • Place the seasoned green beans in the air fryer basket in a single layer and cook for 5-8 minutes or until the desired tenderness is achieved. Do not overfill the air fryer basket and cook in batches if necessary.
  • Squeeze lemon juice or sprinkle grated parmesan cheese over it You can also toss it in garlic butter sauce for additional flavor. Serve and enjoy.

How long to air fry green beans
This will be dependent on the thickness of the green beans. Cook the green beans in the air fryer until they reach a crisp-tender texture, which usually takes around 5 minutes if blanched or up to 10 minutes if not blanched. If you prefer your green beans to be slightly more tender add 1 -2 minutes of cooking time.
