Air fryer roasted garlic recipe
If you find the smell of fresh garlic overpowering, then roasted garlic is the way to go, not only does it have a more subtle flavor, but it is creamy, spreadable, delicious, and the prepping is a breeze.
Roasting garlic in the air fryer is quicker and less work than turning on the oven to roast a head of garlic. The small size of the air fryer makes it all worthwhile, allowing you to make a little amount or a big batch. More importantly, no pesky peeling!
I love roasted garlic and there are so many different ways to utilize it that you'll be amazed at how it can transform your dishes. If you are not adding it to your soups, stews, casserole you can simply use it as a spread on some crusty bread for an incredibly delicious meal, appetizer, or snack.

What you will need
Heads of garlic bulb
Extra virgin olive oil substitute with olive oil, avocado oil, or any other oil of choice
Salt to taste, this is optional
How to make roasted garlic in air fryer
Preheat your air fryer to 380F/190C, cut some aluminum foil sheets that will be enough for the number of garlic heads you will be air frying.
Peel the papery outer layer of a garlic head, Using a sharp knife cut about ½ inches of the garlic head so that all of the cloves are exposed. Place each garlic bulb on the prepared foil sheets
Drizzle a little bit of olive oil over the garlic, and then sprinkle with salt if using. Wrap the foil around the garlic to form a parcel.
Place the wrapped garlic in the air fryer basket, and roast for 20-30 minutes or until the cloves are soft and lightly golden brown.
Let the roasted garlic cool slightly before squeezing out the cloves to use in your dishes.
Tips
- Make herb-infused roasted garlic, you can add herbs such as fresh tarragon, thyme, dill, or rosemary to the garlic cloves before roasting for a delicious flavor profile.
- Do not open the garlic pack quickly after roasting as the escaping steam will be very hot.
Storing roasted garlic
Roasted garlic will last in the fridge for up to a week in an airtight container or jar, cover the garlic with olive oil. You can also freeze in the freezer for up to three months, simply place the cloves in an airtight container and freeze. When you are ready to use them, let them thaw at room temperature.
