This quick and easy creamy bacon pasta is delicious, full of flavour and ready in less than 20 minutes. It uses a handful of everyday ingredients with minimal prep. Bacon pasta is the dish you’ll make on a busy weeknight, you will love it.

While this recipe can be eaten as it is, you can also serve it with vegetables for a well-balanced meal.

    Creamy bacon pasta recipe

This pasta dish is another of my kitchen sink recipe just like my vegetable pasta. I had bacon and heavy cream that needed using and I couldn’t let them go to waste so I made this easy recipe. The other ingredients I could have added or I’ll normally use but I did not on the day I made this recipe is fresh tomatoes. If you love tomato-based pasta recipes then you should check my gnocchi Bolognese or tortellini pasta.

This pasta recipe is so easy to make and requires minimal effort. In fact, the only job here is frying the bacon which can be easily made in the air fryer if you have one. It is that effortless and mess free! Todays recipe is similar to cacio e pepe but with the addition of cream and bacon. What is not to love!!

    pasta in a pan.

You can agree with me that bacon in pasta is gold and the addition of heavy cream takes the dish to a whole lot of delicious and comfort level. This is a great comfort meal the whole family would love, it is perfect for a date night too. Restaurant quality meals made even better at home.

    Ingredients

Pasta: I used spaghetti but you can use any shaped paste of choice

Heavy cream also known as double cream in the UK

    Bacon

    Chilli flakes

Black pepper: You will be needing about 2 teaspoons but it can be adjusted to taste.

    Salt

    Fresh garlic

    Variations and tips

Add other spices like Smoked paprika, Italian seasoning, cajun seasoning, taco seasoning, Piri Piri seasoning, basil, oregano and the likes.

Bulk this pasta recipe up by adding veggies or other protein such as broccoli, cauliflower, shrimps or chicken.

Add a splash of white wine instead of pasta water.

    ingredients.

How to make creamy bacon pasta

Prep the ingredients and cook the pasta: cut the bacon into lardons then chop the garlic. Boil the pasta in salted water until al dente. Reverse some pasta water and drain the spaghetti.

Heat up oil on medium-high heat, carefully add the bacon lardon and cook until crispy but not burnt (reserve some cooked bacon to serve on the pasta later). Reduce the heat then add chopped garlic to the pan, stir to combine and continue to cook for about 30 seconds to 1 minute. make sure not to burn the garlic.

Carefully add pasta water to the pan (be careful as it might bubble) stir to combine and deglaze the bottom of the pan too. Continue to cook for about a minute or two until the liquid reduces. Add heavy cream, chilli flakes and black pepper then stir to combine. Taste for salt and pepper and adjust accordingly. Be careful not to oversalt as the bacon contains salt and so is the pasta water.

Lastly, add the cooked spaghetti to the creamy sauce, toss or stir to combine. Add some pasta water to loosen the dish if it appears to be dry. Take the pasta off the heat and serve immediately.

    How to serve

This recipe is best served with vegetables because it is high in calory but if that is not a problem then serve it with my homemade garlic bread.

    How to store

Most pasta dishes taste better the next day but I do make exception for creamy pasta dishes and use it up the same day. That said, if you do have leftovers then you can store it in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
