I love chicken wings because they are the perfect finger food. What you will need
2.2 lb Chicken wings separated into winglets and drumettes
65g unsalted butter
1 ½ teaspoon Lemon pepper seasoning
1 Tablespoon Cajun seasoning
½ Tablespoon baking powder: Please this can not be substituted with baking soda. If possible use aluminium-free baking powder for optimum result
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
4 Garlic cloves finely chopped: substitute with roasted garlic for a more mellow garlic flavor.
2 Tablespoons parsley finely chopped
Feta cheese, crumbled to garnish the wings. this is optional
Salt and pepper to taste. Reduce the amount of salt you will add to the chicken since lemon pepper seasoning already contains salt.
How to make garlic butter chicken wings
Pat the chicken wings completely dry and transfer to a large bowl.
Add baking powder, lemon pepper seasoning, cajun seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder, salt and black pepper to the chicken wings and mix until well combined.
Preheat the air fryer or oven to 400F/ 200C. I cooked the wings in the air fryer.
Arrange the wings in the air fryer basket (or a baking rack if using the oven). It doesn't matter if they are touching as long as they are not overlapping.
Air fry the chicken wings for a total of 25 minutes, flipping it halfway through the cooking time.
In the meantime, make the garlic butter sauce to meld the flavor before using it.
In a microwavable bowl, add butter and microwave for 30 seconds or until the butter is completely melted. Add the chopped garlic and finely chopped parsley and mix to combine.
Once the chicken wings are cooked, transfer them to a large mixing bowl. Pour the garlic butter sauce over the chicken wings and toss until they are well coated.
Garnish with extra parsley, crumbled feta cheese and lemon wedges if desired, and serve hot. Enjoy!
