I decided to keep this recipe simple as I like to serve it with lemon butter sauce.
Other spices and herbs that go beautifully well with seafood include Paprika, lemon or lime zest, dill, parsley, oregano, garlic, cayenne pepper, onion powder, cumin just to mention a few.
How to cook cod in an air fryer
Preheat the air fryer at 200C/400F for 5 minutes
Pat the cod fillets dry so it is moist-free.
Season the fish generously with salt and black pepper then brush the melted butter on one side of the fish.
Spray the air fryer basket with cooking oil. Place the cod fillet/loin in the air fryer basket buttered side down making sure they are not touching. Brush the remaining butter on top of the fish, add one lemon slice each to the fish
Cook for 10 minutes, carefully remove the fish and transfer to a plate. Serve with lemon butter sauce, roasted potatoes, and veggies, and enjoy!

Fresh fish would typically cook in an air fryer between 10-12 minutes at 200C/400F depending on the thickness. Frozen fish would cook a little bit longer.

if you are not using a thermometer then another way to check the cod for doneness is by flaking with a fork. if it flakes easily, then it is.
