Ingredients

  • 250 g small shell pasta I used Conchiglie pasta
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • ½ cup semi skimmed milk
  • 1 ½ cups sharp cheddar yellow cheese
  • ½ cup brown onion finely chopped
  • 2 garlic garlic cloves finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 Tablespoon ground beef reasoning optional
  • 1 cup chopped tomatoes
  • 2 Tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 2 Tablespoons burger sauce substitute with 1 Tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 4-5 cups of low sodium beef stock The broth should at least be on the same level as the pasta.
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Place a Dutch pot or shallow skillet on medium heat, add butter, and heat until melted.
  • Add the chopped onions and saute until soft and translucent.
  • Add ground beef, break it up in the aromatics, and cook until fully browned.
  • Season with oregano, ground beef seasoning, and garlic. Stir to combine and cook for 30 seconds.
  • Add chopped tomatoes, season with salt and black pepper and stir to combine.
  • Add dry pasta to the cooked ground beef, pour the beef stock over it, and stir to combine.
  • Cook the pasta for 10 to 15 minutes or until al dente. Stir intermittently and add more water or beef stock to the pasta to help it cook so it doesn't stick to the bottom of the pan.
  • Once the pasta is cooked, add shredded cheese and stir to combine until melted.
  • Add milk and cheeseburger sauce (substitute with 1 Tablespoon of yellow mustard). Stir to combine and cook for 2 minutes until fully incorporated into the pasta.
  • Serve hot with your favorite toppings, such as chopped tomatoes, green onions, or pickles. Enjoy!
