Honey Soy Salmon Air Fryer (Marinated Salmon)

This air fryer honey soy salmon recipe is sweet, simple, easy to make, and packed with umami flavor. The sweet salmon marinade takes just minutes to prepare and is perfect for busy weeknight dinners. It cooks in the air fryer under 10 minutes, resulting in perfectly tender and flaky fish. You will love this one. Serve with rice or cauliflower rice.

Equipment

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb salmon 4 fillets
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 Tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon chili paste Sub with red pepper flakes
  • ½ Tablespoon garlic paste Sub with 1 teaspoon garlic powder.
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • salt and pepper to tatse
  • Sesame seeds to serve
  • Lemon wedges to serve

Instructions
 

  • Make marinade: In a bowl, combine soy sauce, olive oil, honey, garlic paste, chili paste, paprika, salt and black pepper and mix to combine.
    ¼ cup honey, 2 Tablespoons soy sauce, 1 teaspoon smoked paprika, 1 teaspoon chili paste, ½ Tablespoon garlic paste, salt and pepper to tatse, 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • Clean the fish: descale the salmon if need be. Pat it dry with a kitchen paper towel and place it in a ziploc bag or a shallow plastic bowl.
  • Marinade: Pour the marinade over the salmon, close the Ziploc bag, and gently massage the bag to coat the fish with the marinade. Marinate the salmon for 15-30 minutes.
    1 lb salmon
  • Air fry: Once the fish is marinated, remove the salmon from the marinade and transfer it to a baking dish (skin side down) that will fit in your air fryer basket. Alternatively, line the air fryer basket with foil. Pour the marinade over the salmon.
    PS: lightly grease the pan before placing it in the air fryer basket.
  • Air fry the honey soy salmon at 195C/390F for 6-8 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 145F. You will know the salmon is done when it is opaque and flakes away easily with a fork.
  • Carefully remove the dish from the air fryer basket. Serve the sweet and sticky salmon over boiled rice with the sauce and some steamed veggies on the side. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Enjoy

How to store
Store leftover honey soy salmon in the fridge in an airtight container for 2-3 days. Freeze for up to 3 months.
