Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef 500g mincemeat
  • 2 teaspoon Sesame oil

Stir fry sauce

Veggies

  • 150 g Mangetouts
  • ½ cup onions
  • 1 Red bell peppers chopped
  • 200 g mushrooms chopped
  • 2 large garlic cloves minced
  • cup green onions chopped divided
  • 2 fresh chillies chopped divided
  • 2 tablespoon veg oil
  • 2 teaspoon Sesame oil
  • White pepper to taste
  • Salt: this is optional and should only be added to the stir fry last only if need be.

Instructions

  • Season the ground beef: Add ½ teaspoon white pepper and 2 teaspoon sesame oil, and 1 tablespoon of the stir fry sauce to the ground beef, stir to combine then set aside.
  • Mix the sauce: Add 2-3 tablespoon of the homemade stir fry to a cup then add ¼ cup of water, mix to combine, and set aside.
  • Sautee veggies: Heat up oil in a skillet on medium-high heat then Sautee the chopped onions for about 2 minutes until fragrant. Add mushrooms and cook until browned (about 3 minutes). Add chopped garlic, green chilies, red bell pepper, green onions, mangetouts and stir fry for another 3 to 5 minutes or until tender-crisp.
Remove the sauteed veggies from the heat and transfer to a plate then set aside.
  • Cook ground beef: Add ground beef to the hot pan, leave undisturbed for about a minute then break it up in the pan and cook until browned and no longer pink. Remove any excess oil from the pan if need be.
  • Mix to combine: Add the sauteed veggies back into the pan and stir to combine with the ground beef.
Add 1 tablespoon of cornflour to the stir fry sauce and mix to combine. Pour the sauce over the beef and stir to combine, the sauce will begin to thicken at this point. Taste and adjust seasoning to preference, (check if it needs a bit of salt or pepper)
Cook for about 2 minutes and take it off the heat. Garnish with some sesame seeds, chopped green onions, fresh chilies, and serve immediately serve. Enjoy!
