Air Fryer Lemon Pepper Chicken Wings

Air fryer lemon pepper chicken wings! This 30 minutes recipe will change your mind about frying or grilling your meat ever. The air fried chicken wings are crispy, juicy, packed full of flavour and it doesn’t need oil to make it. This recipe is great as an appetiser or weeknight dinner

Equipment

Ingredients
  

  • 1 kg Chicken wings separated into drumettes and winglette
  • ½ tablespoon smoked paprika
  • ½ tablespoon garlic granules substitute for garlic powder or fresh minced garlic
  • 2 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 tablespoon cornflour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Baking powder: This is optional for more crispiness

To make the lemon pepper sauce

  • ¼ cup butter
  • Zest of large lemon
  • ½ tablespoon freshly ground black pepper
  • Salt to taste

Instructions
 

  • Pat the chicken wings dry with a kitchen towel, season with salt and pepper, paprika, parsley, garlic granules, cornflour and mix together to combine. Marinate for 15 minutes and move on to preheat the air fryer.

  • Preheat the air fryer to 195C/385F, mine is automatically set for 5 minutes (I use Cosori air fryer)
  • Spray the air fryer basket with some cooking spray or rub some oil on the basket. Arrange the chicken wings in a single layer, cook the chicken at 195C/385F for 10 minutes. After the timer stops, remove the basket and flip the chicken wings, return it in the air fryer and cook for another 10 minutes at 195C/385F.

  • For the last time, take out the chicken and give it a good shake, increase the temperature of the air fryer to 200C/400F and cook for an additional 3 minutes.

  • While this is going on, move on to make the lemon pepper sauce
  • Melt the butter in a microwavable bowl, add the lemon zest, freshly ground pepper and a little bit of salt to taste and mix to combine.

  • Transfer the chicken to a bowl, pour over the lemon pepper sauce and toss to combine.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy
