Ingredients

  • ½ lb broccolini
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 Tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic granules
  • 1 teaspoon onion granules
  • ¼ cup water
  • Salt and ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Wash the broccolini clean under running water, pat it dry with a kitchen paper towel until completely dry, and trim off the ends (about 1 inch off)
  • Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet on medium-low heat until the butter is melted and oil hot. Add broccolini and saute for about 3 minutes, turning occasionally so it doesn't burn.
  • Season with garlic granules, onion granules, salt, and black pepper, and stir and cook for another 30 seconds.
  • Carefully add water, stir to combine, and cover the pan with a lid, reduce the heat and cook the broccolini for an additional 1-2 minutes or until tender-crisp.
  • Take it off the heat and serve immediately with salmon, chicken, pork, or as desired. You can sprinkle some grated parmesan, red pepper flakes, lemon zest, or lemon juice on the sauteed broccolini if you want, for some extra va-va-voom.
