How to make brown sugar syrup
Brown Sugar syrup is made with brown sugar and water. The common ratio is 1:1, i.e equal part of water and sugar or use 1 ½ cup of sugar to 1 cup of water. add water and brown sugar to a small saucepan, place on medium heat and stir until dissolved. reduce the heat and bring to a boil for another 5 minutes until the sugar is completely dissolved. leave to cool then store in an airtight jar for up to 2 weeks or longer in the fridge.  Alternatively, check my homemade vanilla syrup for how to make your own.
How to make a small quantity of brown sugar syrup
To a small mixing bowl, add 1-2 tablespoon brown sugar, add double the amount of hot boiling water and stir until the sugar dissolves.
Tips
  • Don’t own a coffee machine or an espresso maker. No problem simply make a cup of strong brewed instant coffee.
  • Use decaffeinated coffee to make it caffeine-free iced coffee.
  • If 3 shots of espresso is too strong for you then adjust to taste.
  • Use cold brew instead of freshly brewed espresso
