Equipment

  • large bowl

Ingredients

  • 500 g Strawberries
  • 2 cups red grapes
  • 1 ½ cup kiwi from 4 medium-sized kiwi
  • 1 orange
  • 4 cups honeydew melon
  • 2 cups pineapple chunks

Honey lemon dressing

  • cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • Zest of 1 lemon juice

Instructions

  • Wash the fruits properly before use. Cut and chop individual fruits into small manageable sizes. Try to cut them evenly if you can so the salad looks very appealing and beautiful. Add the fruits to a large bowl and set aside.
  • Make the honey-lime dressing: to a small bowl, add honey, fresh lemon juice, zest of one lemon and mix to combine to form a light syrup. Taste and adjust to suit you, but do not let it be too sweet. You can swap the honey for maple syrup, brown sugar or coconut sugar to make this recipe vegetarian and vegan.
  • Pour the honey lemon dressing over the fruits and mix to combine. Cover the salad with a cling film and chill for at least 1 hours. That way the flavours of the fruits would have developed and the dressing would have married the salad perfectly.
  • Serve and enjoy! You can also garnish with mint leaves. I forgot to add this recipe.

Notes

How to store fruit salad
  • Your fruit salad would remain fresh in the fridge for up to 48 hours depending on the types of fruits used. I personally wouldn’t store them longer than that time especially if it contains dressing.
  • No, you cannot freeze fruit salad.
