I don’t serve sloppy joes with burger buns alone, I sometimes serve it with pasta or over rice. Great comfort food that is quick, simple and stress-free
Ingredients
Lean ground beef: this can be substituted with ground turkey or chicken. Although, the original recipe uses ground beef.
Onions
Minced garlic
Green bell pepper
Yellow mustard
Ketchup
Tomato paste
Worcestershire sauce
Liquid smoke: this is optional but use it if you have it as it gives the sauce a touch of delicious smoky flavour. This is why I was able to get away with not using chili powder in this recipe.
Beef stock
Salt and pepper
Burger buns: plain or brioche, I prefer brioche bun
