Is Vietnamese coffee a lot more than condensed milk and coffee?

I shared this recipe on my YouTube channel and I had a few comments on how it is not authentic enough because of instant coffee. For reference’s sake, Vietnamese iced coffee is made with sweetened condensed milk and coffee.

Vietnamese iced coffee is also known as cà phê đá or cafe da which is translated to iced coffee. Traditionally, it is made with coffee brewed in a Phin (Vietnamese coffee filter) which then drips slowly and directly over a cup already containing sweetened condensed milk.

Not everyone owns a Phin or the type of coffee (Cafe Du Monde/ coffee with chicory) used by the Vietnamese, that is why I prefer to use espresso or instant coffee. For this recipe, you can use your regular French press coffee which is also known as cafetiere.
