Iced Coffee Lemonade recipe
What is the first thing that comes to mind for a coffee lover during a heat wave or a hot summer day? Iced coffee, of course! This delicious and refreshing drink is perfect for hot days. The weather has been off the chart here in the UK and I have been making iced coffee every day to keep cool. Hey, I drink water, cucumber water, or pineapple water too.
In case you are wondering if coffee and lemon go together, the answer is yes! it’s really good and hopefully, I would be able to win you over too. The citrusy flavor of the lemon juice takes away any bitterness from the coffee and makes it super refreshing.
What is even better about this iced coffee recipe is that it is so easy to make at home and it is way cheaper than Starbucks or what you will get from your local cafe. So, the next time you are in the mood for an iced coffee, ditch Starbucks and make this delicious drink at home.
What is coffee lemonade
Coffee Lemonade is a refreshing drink that combines the best of both worlds, coffee, and lemonade. It is similar to Mazagran which is a traditional drink from Algeria that uses a combination of strong hot espresso, lemon juice, and simple sugar syrup served on ice. This iced coffee drink is super refreshing, citrusy, and easy to make. Think of it as the fraternal twin of Arnold palmers drink (tea and coffee drink).
You only need 3 main ingredients and ice plus 5 minutes to make this recipe. In fact, it can be quicker than that if you already have a cold brew coffee in your fridge.
PS: coffee and lemonade drink originated from Algeria and it is popular in Portugal as well. You can also add alcohol to this drink if you desire.
What you will need
Cold brew coffee or brewed coffee
Lemonade
Fresh lemon juice
How to make iced coffee lemonade
Gather all that you need to make your drinks
Brew your coffee as you would normally and let it cool slightly or get a glass of cold brew coffee. I am using espresso.
Add ice to a glass, pour the lemonade over the ice, then the coffee and lemon juice. Add sugar syrup or honey if desired and stir to combine. Garnish with a slice of lemon and serve. Enjoy!
How to store
This iced drink is best consumed right away so I wouldn't recommend storing it. However, if you need to store it, then do so in a glass jar with a lid in the fridge for up to 24 hours.
