Knowing how to reheat pizza properly is a necessity for every home cook. Learn how to reheat pizza in air fryer in easy steps.

If you have ever wondered if it can be done, the answer is yes! Reheating pizza in the air fryer is the best way to enjoy leftover pizza just as fresh from the oven. Nice crust with melty gooey cheese just like new.

    Reheating food in air fryer

No doubt, Pizza is one of the most popular foods in the world especially if you are living on your own. It is comforting and delicious, isn't it? I won't judge you because you are not alone, we love and enjoy pizza nights in my house and we never miss it.

However, I am not sure cold leftover pizzas get the same love we all show it when it is still new and fresh.

If you despise eating leftover microwaved pizza or can't be bothered with the oven because it is time-consuming then this post is for you. Reheating pizza in an air fryer is a great way to keep all of that delicious flavor and texture, whilst saving time too. You can reheat your pizza without the use of any pots or pans, making clean-up even easier.

While reheating in the air fryer is the greatest approach for enjoying leftover pizza, it does have a disadvantage. Depending on the size and model of your air fryer, you can only reheat two to three slices at once. That said, I doubt you'll have a full box of pizza left in the refrigerator.

The several benefits of reheating pizza in the air fryer

    • It cooks faster than other methods (oven or stovetop) and definitely better than the microwave. No soggy and rubbery pizza is allowed here! Air fryers are becoming more and more popular because they offer a lot of flexibility for cooking or reheating food.
    • It's more convenient than the oven because you don't have to preheat the air fryer, and you will be guaranteed a wonderful result
    • This method works for all types of pizza, thin crust, thick crust, stuffed crust, and any other types out there.
    • The air fryer works by circulating hot air around the food cooked in it. This ensures the pizza cooks evenly and in as little time as possible.

How to reheat leftover pizza in air fryer

This is very easy and foolproof, many other articles suggested preheating the air fryer beforehand but I find this not necessary in this case. However, if this makes you confident then preheat the air fryer at 325F/165C for 3 to 5 minutes.

Bring out the cold pizza from the fridge and place it in the air fryer basket in a single layer.

Warm the pizza at 325F/165C for 3 to 6 minutes depending on the thickness of the crust or toppings. I find 4 minutes for pizzas with regular crusts a happy medium for crispy crust and gooey cheese. However, adjust the cooking time to suit your preferences and the size of your air fryer.

Remove from the air fryer basket, serve, and enjoy!

PS: I used COSORI 5.5XL air fryer (affiliate link) but any brand and style of air fryer would work.

    Tips

    • Bring the thick-crust or deep-dish pizza out of the fridge about 5 minutes before reheating so it comes to room temperature. This will ensure that it cooks evenly and quickly without burning the toppings or the cheese.
    • Line the bottom of the air fryer basket with aluminum foil to catch any crumbs when reheating. This will reduce the mess and make clean up easier afterward.
    • Start checking on the pizza from 3 minutes to judge how long you will continue to reheat it for particularly if warming a thick crust-styled pizza.
    • Do not stack the pizza in the air fryer basket, otherwise, it would not cook evenly and properly. Reheat them in batches if need be.

    FAQs

How long to reheat pizza in air fryer

This will depend on the size and thickness of your pizza. Pizza with thicker crusts may take four to six minutes while thin crust could be warmed in about 3 - 4 minutes

What temperature to reheat pizza in air fryer

I suggest you set the air fryer to 325F/165C for reheating pizza. This temperature is hot enough without drying out or overcooking your food. You can reheat it at a lower temperature though, but this will take longer to cook and may not give you the crispy result that is ideal for reheated leftover pizza.

    How long does it take

This is dependent on the size of your air fryer, the thickness of the pizza and the temperature you use. In most cases at 325F/165C, it will take between 3 to 6 minutes to warm it properly. For thin crust, it should take four minutes while thicker or stuffed crust can be longer, so start checking from 4 minutes.
