It is the perfect combination of the best two delicious comfort dishes packed into one tasty meal. This recipe is easy to follow and takes less than 10 minutes to make.

The air fryer version tastes better than the stovetop. I've tried both and my family always prefers the air-fried one. The crispiness of the taco shell is unbeatable, it is less messy and you need little to no oil to make it.
Kid-friendly: These air fryer smash burger tacos are the perfect recipe for getting the kids involved in the kitchen and in making their meals. In my case, I portion the ingredients for my daughters, and they make this dish under supervision. The fun part is they get to choose their favorite burger toppings.
Versatile: It can be eaten anytime: breakfast, brunch, lunch, or dinner. It's also perfect for parties and gatherings. Swap the sides to fit the occasion; serve it with French fries, tater tots, hash browns, or breakfast potatoes, or enjoy it on its own.
What you will need
You need only a few ingredients to make this recipe. The recipe card below provides exact measurements.
Lean ground beef: This is also known and labeled as beef mince.
Mini flour tortilla
Salt and black pepper: It is best to use coarse salt when making burger patties. It adds a nice crunch and texture to the burger.
Burger cheese slices: They melt deliciously into the burger.
Tomatoes: sliced
Lettuce: thinly sliced
Smashburger sauce: This is what really makes these tacos stand out! To make this delicious sauce, you will need mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, gherkin (plus gherkin juice), paprika, garlic granules, onion granules, and sugar (if desired). Check out my Smashburger sauce post for the full recipe.
How to make air fryer smash burger tacos
Divide the ground beef into 8 or 10 equal parts (depending on the number of people you are serving). Roll each portion into a ball.
Take one of the rolled ground beef pieces at a time and flatten it using your palm on the tortillas (The beef should fill the tortilla about 95%). Repeat this process until you have used up all the tortillas and rolled ground beef.
Sprinkle salt and pepper on smashed patties generously, then lightly spray the beef with oil.
Preheat your air fryer to 400F /200C for 3 minutes.
Place the patties in a single layer in the air fryer basket beef side up. Do not overcrowd them. You need to cook them in batches for a better result.
Cook for 4 minutes (no need to flip) or until the beef is cooked to your liking. Honestly, 4 minutes should be enough, and you will have a crispy tortilla with this.
Top each burger with the cheese slices, return it to the air fryer for 10-20 seconds and let the residual heat melt the cheese.
Remove them to a plate and make the next batch(es).
Top the Big Mac taco with your toppings of choice and my homemade burger sauce. Enjoy!
Note: Depending on the shape and size of your air fryer, you should be able to fit at least two mini tortillas in the basket without overcrowding them.

- Depending on the shape and size of your air fryer, you should be able to fit at least two mini tortillas in the basket without overcrowding it
